KAULI VAASTS' QUIVER BREAKDOWN ON THE ROAD TO GOLD.

KAULI VAASTS' QUIVER BREAKDOWN ON THE ROAD TO GOLD.

More insight into the quiver that Kauli utilised throughout his months of training before the massive range of conditions throughout the event that ended in winning a gold medal.

Kauli was already used to surfing Teahupo’o most days of the week, alongside the other reef passes a short ski or boat ride from his house. Add in preparation for the biggest contest of his life alongside team France, and he was out there every single day with coach Jeremy Flores regardless of conditions.

JS made him an 11 board quiver specifically for the event, from Monsta 10 shortboards through to FMN3s and Schooners as step-ups. Based on previous feedback, Kauli preferred the FMN3s for days with a southerly swell direction that makes Tahiti’s most famous wave run longer, more like a point. While the Schooner is his preference for the heaviest slabs that come with a predominantly west swell direction.
