Bethany began surfing at a very young age, and by 9, she secured her first sponsorships, won several amateur surfing titles, making her a rising star in the sport.

After the shark attack in 2003, where she lost her left arm, Bethany's return to competitive surfing was nothing short of extraordinary. Just a year later, in 2005, she won the National Scholastic Surfing Association (NSSA) National Championships, proving her place among elite surfers.

Bethany continued to compete on the professional circuit, participating in World Surf League (WSL) events. In 2014, she received a wildcard entry to the Fiji Women's Pro, where she famously defeated top-ranked surfers, showcasing her ability to compete at the highest level despite her physical challenges.

Throughout her career, Bethany has developed a powerful and adaptive surfing style, using customized boards and innovative techniques to maintain her competitive edge. She has surfed some of the world’s most challenging.
