AN INTRODUCTION TO OUR SURFBOARD CATEGORIES.

Each of our board models are categorised in a “series” to cover all surfers and conditions. After more than 25 years of JS Industries, with R&D spanning dozens of world class ambassadors & team riders in every corner of the world, we have finely tuned modes specifically designed for each type of wave you could ever find.

This begins with our Fun Series, designed for waves 0-3ft, or up to waist high. It features boards with flatter rockers, generous foam distribution and everything else you need to make small or weak conditions more fun than ever before.

Next up is our Daily Series, built to cover waves 2-6ft, or waist high to overhead. Relaxed rockers, foam hidden in the right places making it easy to surf, yet still geared towards manoeuvrability and quick response.

Then you have our Performer Series, for quality waves from 4-10ft, or chest high to double overhead. Specifically designed for waves with power, good shape (or likely, both), these models are refined for unlimited potential to surf your best. You’ll find moderate rocker in the Monsta 10 to balance drive, release and speed generation, then slightly more curve in the FMN3 and Golden Child as the pinnacle of our range for more vertical, performance surfing.

The Schooner’s point of difference comes more in the outline, with a fuller nose and pulled in tail, along with the foil, hiding extra volume under the chest yet with a low rail. Then the Big Horse takes this design to more of an extreme, with even more foam in the middle tapering down to much more pulled down rails. These boards are all about control and confidence in critical sections.

Finally, our Charger Series models are designed for waves double overhead, to as big as you want to go. Our team riders most often use the FMN3 Step Up as a more traditional good wave board, while the Big Horse’s Tier 3 dimensions allow you to pack even more volume into a relatively short board to suit slabs. Then there’s the highly specialised Step Off Performer, and the Mother Trucker – to paddle into anything the ocean can throw at you.

HOW DO I CHOOSE BOARDS FROM EACH SERIES TO BUILD MY QUIVER?

As you’ll see in our team riders quivers, they usually have at least one go to board from each series to cover all conditions. For example, you might start with the Fun Series models ridden shorter and wider than anything else in our range, like the Flame Fish. A surfer on 28.5 to 30L would choose a 5’4” / 30L Flame Fish, then their Daily Series board could be the Xero Fusion at 5’9” / 29L. Note this keeps the same thickness, yet is longer, narrower and has more rocker.

Moving into the Performer Series, a Monsta 10 would fit this quiver perfectly at 6’0” / 28.5L. Again, it’s similar thickness yet longer, narrower and has extra curve compared to the Xero Fusion.

Then the Charger Series component of this quiver could be a FMN3 Step Up, 6’4” and 31L. Due to rail height you’d ride this board slightly thicker than the Monsta, then 2-6 inches longer depending on the size of waves you’re intending for it and personal preference.
