BOARD OVERVIEW
SMALL WAVE PERFORMANCE.
The Xero Fusion is a performance oriented, user friendly model for flatter faced waves. Positioned between the Xero Gravity all-rounder and the Sub Xero super groveller, this is our latest small wave weapon to fill an essential role in any surfer’s quiver.
It’s been designed with the iconic and timeless Blak Box rocker with a new and updated blend of outline curves, modern rail shapes and a narrower swallow tail. This tail shape provides more outline curve from nose to tail enhancing the overall glide of the board in weaker conditions. The new Xero Fusion features a combination of extra foam distribution throughout the rail line leaving the volume where you need it. However, the rails are pulled down to create the sensitivity you need in a board with plenty of extra foam hidden throughout.
This has been a winning combination for JS throughout a lot of our favourite boards in recent years. Xero Fusion is incredibly fast due to the Blak Box rocker providing instant acceleration, suited even more to small waves compared to the Xero Gravity. The rocker is flat and designed to fly through any dead spot, yet enough curve enabling you to push and turn hard in the pocket.
The engine room includes a single concave under the front foot running into a double through the fins. This provides extra lift and control through critical sections. The Xero Fusion is an updated and modern alignment with the best-selling Blak Box model (ridden in the same dimensions). Look for the Easy Rider option also available for surfers who prefer more foam in a shorter board, with low rails to maintain manoeuvrability.
As the Xero Family evolves, JS continues to focus on adding to the strengths of our clear global favourites. We have tested dozens of combinations to create fresh ideas and found the ultimate 1-3ft step down model catering to so many locations around the world. Xero Fusion is now the board of choice for our Traktor Team riders in flatter or weaker waves when they still want to perform at their absolute best.

XERO FUSION
WAVE TYPE
1-3ft. Great in many conditions from crumbly, flatter wave faces to good quality surf. The rocker has been proven over time to be the most versatile in the x-series.
XERO FUSION
Features
Rocker |
The same rocker as the superseded Blak Box 3. An overall low to flat rocker is the perfect all-round rocker creating speed and glide in small to average conditions. |
Fin setup |
The Xero Fusion PU comes stock as a thruster. Alternative setups are available with custom orders. |
Glassing specs |
Boards 5'6" - 5'11" glassed standard with 4 oz. deck x 4 oz. bottom. Boards 5'11" - 6'4" glassed 4 x 3 oz. deck and 4 oz. bottom. 6'6 and up glassed standard with 4 x 4 oz deck x 4 oz. bottom (All sizes come standard with Hybrid Fibre tail strips) |
Rail type |
The Xero Fusion has medium full rails. This performance based rail shape allows for precision when the right section stands up, yet has enough volume to get you through fat sections or avoid catch in chop. |
XERO FUSION
CONCAVESingle concave under front foot moves to double concave between the fins. Based on team favourites, JS chose to go back to his “reverse concave” which is deeper under front foot and shallower at each end of the board. We found this to be the fastest of them all, as it creates maximum water flow.

I love the Xero Fusion its a great board for those smaller days when its wait to just over head...... so most days here in the UK.
I really like that you can mix it up as a 2+1, Thruster or Quad. The flatter rocker means you get that get up and go on smaller days when you need all the help you can get.
I have mine in Hyfi 3 and i love the flex you get in that construction and makes total sense for a small wave pocket rocket like this

When you paddle out on an average small day, and have so much speed and tear into the waves, and guys asking what board you are riding, is a testament to how good this board is.

I've been a big fan of black box and HYFY series. I just got the Xero Fusion HYFY 3.0 a few weeks ago and I'm
really enjoying how it goes, it's really fast and very responsive and goes in all conditions. So it's a big thumbs
up from me.

Blown away! I’ve been a fan of the Blak box line for 10+ yrs and owned all of them. I’m almost 40 now and went a couple liters more that my last in the Xero - this felt electric under foot. So responsive yet so user friendly. Love it!!

I purchased the xero fusion bac in December 2023 and I have not stopped riding it. I've surfed it all up and down the NSW coast , in all conditions. This board is my go to for anything 1-4ft. Whether its onshore and messy , offshore and barrels, punchy beach breaks, fat and lazy surf to point breaks. I ride the Julian Wilson fins with it.
